About the watch
Founded in 1868 in Schaffhausen by Florentine Ariosto Jones, IWC built its reputation on the meeting of Swiss engineering and international vision — it's no coincidence that the motto "Probus Scafusia," engraved on this watch's crown, literally means "of proven quality, made in Schaffhausen." A promise of quality kept for over 150 years.
Pilot's Watches were born in the 1930s, when military aviation demanded instruments capable of guaranteeing maximum legibility and absolute precision under extreme conditions. The 1948 Mark XI, developed for the British RAF, became their definitive archetype: an essential dial, resistance to magnetic fields, mission-proof reliability. The Mark XVIII Heritage faithfully revives that visual language, proving that truly timeless design never needs reinventing — only passing on.
Know your watch
Some watches don't try to impress — they try to endure: through time, through weather, through changing trends. The Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Heritage is exactly that: a matte black dial, clean Arabic numerals, blade-shaped blue hands cutting through time with military precision. No embellishment, just absolute legibility — the same demand once made by pilots who trusted their course to a wrist-worn instrument.
The sandblasted titanium case, light yet resistant, carries a lived-in, matte patina that makes this "Heritage" version feel all the more authentic — not simply an aviation watch, but a genuine tribute to the cockpit instruments of the 1940s. The watch comes with two straps — a rugged, versatile black textile NATO and a more elegant brown leather strap suited to formal occasions — two distinct personalities in one watch, to swap depending on mood or outfit.
The in-house automatic movement, with steady rate and a 42-hour power reserve, ensures everyday reliability. Water resistance to 60 metres (6 bar) means it's ready for daily life without a second thought.
This example comes as a complete full set with box, IWC international warranty and original documentation (serial 6350688, purchase date 17/01/2024) — ready to begin a new chapter on the wrist of someone who loves watches with a story to tell, but with nothing left to prove.
