About the watch

Founded in 1868 by American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones, IWC Schaffhausen is known for its combination of Swiss precision and innovative engineering. Unlike many traditional watchmakers, IWC has developed its identity through robustness, functionality and advanced technological solutions, becoming a point of reference for professionals and enthusiasts of technical watches.

In the 1950s, with the growing influence of the industrial age and engineering professions, IWC introduced the Ingenieur 666 (1955), a revolutionary model with anti-magnetic protection, designed for those working in environments with high electromagnetic exposure. This timepiece, in addition to being a symbol of innovation, consolidated the link between IWC and the world of engineering.

The brand has continued to evolve, distinguishing itself with the use of advanced materials such as titanium and ceramic, as well as developing increasingly sophisticated in-house movements. In 2008, to celebrate its 140th anniversary, IWC presented the Vintage Collection, reinterpreting some of its most iconic models, including the Ingenieur.

The "Tribute to Italy", with its exclusive production of 150 pieces, fits perfectly into this tradition, paying homage not only to the historical design, but also to the strong bond between IWC and the Italian market, one of the most passionate and loyal to the maison over the years.

The IWC Ingenieur Automatic Vintage 1955 “Tribute to Italy” is an extremely rare limited edition of just 150 pieces, created exclusively for the Italian market in 2008 to celebrate IWC’s 140th anniversary. Part of the prestigious Vintage Collection, this timepiece pays homage to the iconic Ingenieur 666 from 1955, harmoniously combining classic aesthetics with modern details.

The robust stainless steel case, with a diameter of 42.5 mm and a height of 14.5 mm, houses the IWC-manufactured 80110 calibre, a highly precise automatic movement that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement, which features a date display, is visible through the sapphire-glass case back. The beige dial, enhanced by silver-plated indices and a distinctive red seconds hand, lends a refined vintage touch. The stainless steel bezel and screw-down crown ensure high resistance, while water resistance to 120 metres adds to its versatility.

To complete the look, an original high-quality brown leather strap with IWC pin buckle, for the perfect balance between elegance and comfort.

Delivered with its original box and papers, this watch is in excellent condition. Certified and verified by our expert watchmakers, it comes with a 12-month extended warranty offered by Watchive, which covers any mechanical issues.
