Collections such as Patrimony, Traditionnelle and Overseas testify to the versatility of the house, capable of ranging from pure classicism to sporty elegance. Each Vacheron Constantin creation is the expression of a unique savoir-faire, destined to last over time and be passed down from generation to generation.
Know your watch
The Vacheron Constantin Overseas ref. 42042 is the first model in the famous Overseas collection, launched in 1996 as the spiritual successor to the famous 222 designed by Jörg Hysek in 1977. This reference represents the sporty and contemporary interpretation of Vacheron Constantin's classic elegance, combining robustness, versatility and horological refinement.
Featuring a 37 mm stainless steel case with a hexagonal bezel inspired by the Maltese cross, the Overseas 42042 is powered by a high-quality automatic movement: the VC 1311 caliber, based on the reliable Girard-Perregaux 3100, protected by a closed caseback decorated with an engraving of a sailing ship. The opaline white dial offers excellent contrast with the applied indexes and luminescent hands, ensuring perfect readability even in low-light conditions.
The watch features sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown and case back, and is water resistant to 150 meters. It is accompanied by its iconic integrated steel bracelet, with a satin finish and polished bevels, which gives it an excellent fit on the wrist. The power reserve is approximately 46 hours.
This reference, produced in limited quantities for a few years, is today highly sought after by collectors thanks to its pioneering role in the Overseas line and the perfect combination of sportiness and tradition. The version with a white dial, less common than the blue one, is particularly appreciated for its elegant and luminous look. Its collectible value is supported by the high quality of construction, the Vacheron Constantin signature and the historical importance of the model within the history of the maison.
