About the watch
Founded in 1865, Zenith is one of the few true integrated manufactures in Swiss watchmaking, capable of designing and producing its own movements in-house from its inception. Its history is deeply tied to the pursuit of precision, evidenced by numerous chronometry awards and, above all, by the creation in 1969 of the legendary El Primero, one of the first integrated high-frequency automatic chronographs ever made. This caliber, capable of measuring time to the tenth of a second, has become an absolute benchmark in the watchmaking landscape over time.
The El Primero Pacific model marks an evolutionary phase for the maison, in which Zenith has been able to reinterpret its technical heritage through a more contemporary aesthetic language. While keeping the famous El Primero movement at its core, the Pacific stands out for a more modern and sporty approach, designed for an audience that seeks the same mechanical excellence in a less traditional guise.
In this sense, the Pacific represents an interesting variation of Zenith's identity: less iconic than other historical references, but precisely because of this, more discreet and personal. It is the expression of a manufacture that, while remaining faithful to its fundamental values—precision, innovation, and independence—has been able to evolve over time, adapting its language without ever compromising its authenticity.
Know your watch
The Zenith El Primero Pacific represents one of the most discreet and fascinating interpretations of the historic El Primero line. Born during a period when the manufacture was exploring a more contemporary language, this model successfully blends modern aesthetic codes with the technical identity that made Zenith famous.
The case, solid yet well-proportioned, expresses a sporty vocation without being excessive. The lines are clean, well-defined, striking a refined balance between wrist presence and understated elegance. The dial, organized in the classic tri-compax layout, offers excellent legibility and elegantly references the maison's chronographic heritage. Every detail appears measured, never redundant, contributing to a harmonious and coherent whole.
At the heart of the watch beats the renowned El Primero caliber, one of the first integrated automatic chronograph movements in history, capable of measuring time to a tenth of a second thanks to its high frequency. More than a technical achievement, it represents a symbol of continuity and resilience, having survived the quartz crisis to become one of the most iconic movements in Swiss watchmaking.
The Pacific is not among Zenith's most immediately recognizable references, and it is precisely this that defines its character. It is a timepiece for those who seek substance and authenticity rather than visibility—a watch that fully reveals itself only to those who observe it carefully.
A conscious choice, of refined discretion.
